FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE Standard, Deluxe, Collector

Three boxes, two bonus clocks, one Mitra postbox.

Edition Comparison

FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE launches October 22, 2026 (Japanese Steam lists October 23). Square Enix sells three paid editions plus two time-limited item packs. The packs are not editions. Mixing those words is how people buy Deluxe for an airship skin that is actually a pre-order extra.

Claim location for every in-game bonus below: the postbox in front of the inn in the Town of Mitra, after you have progressed the story far enough. The demo teaches you where Mitra is. The pre-order guide is the narrative version of this table.

UK Collector pricing is the Square Enix EU/UK figure (~£189.99). US Collector is $209.99 on the North American Square Enix Store. Japan’s e-STORE lists ¥25,500. Goods-box-only SKUs (no game disc) exist in some regions at a lower price; read the product title before you check out.

Standard Edition — $49.99

The full single-player game. Physical on Switch, Switch 2, and PS5. Digital on those plus Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Microsoft Store. No Magitek chocobo key. No Archwitch’s Grimoire. You still get the story, 26 Visions, jobs, espers, and the airship when the plot hands it to you.

Buy Standard if you already played the Chapter 1 demo and you only want the remaining chapters. Buy it physical if you want a cartridge or disc and do not want the goods box. Nintendo has warned in press that Switch and Switch 2 are separate SKUs without a quoted upgrade path — pick the hardware you will hold in October.

Standard is eligible for both bonus clocks. Pre-order it and you still get the Airship pack. Buy it by the early-purchase deadline and you still get Kickstart. Deluxe is not required for those packs.

Digital Deluxe Edition — $59.99

Base game plus the Magitek & Grimoire Deluxe Pack:

  • Magitek Armor Key x1 — changes your chocobo’s appearance to magitek armor. Toggle it ON under Items in the main menu. Cosmetic. Not a combat stat.
  • Archwitch’s Grimoire x1 — unlocks a certain character’s Fel Meteor Limit Burst. Square Enix has not printed the character name on the English store card; the item is the unlock, not a new Vision.
  • Mastery Ring x1
  • Tent x5
  • Mist Potion x5
  • Mist Ether x5
  • Phoenix Down x5
  • Remedy x3

A Deluxe Upgrade SKU exists on Nintendo’s listing at $14.99 for people who already own Standard. Same pack, same Mitra postbox. If you pre-purchased Standard on Steam, look for the upgrade there instead of buying the whole Deluxe bundle twice.

Deluxe does not include the Magitek Airship Passkey. That Passkey is pre-order. Deluxe does not extend the Kickstart window. Kickstart is a calendar, not a SKU.

Fel Meteor is a Limit Burst, which fills when you stagger or take damage. It is not a reason to skip jobs or party builds. It is a nice button on one character.

Collector’s Edition — about £189.99 / $209.99

Sold through Square Enix stores (North America, UK/EU, and the Japanese e-STORE). Typical contents:

  • Physical Standard Edition (platform of your choice: Switch, Switch 2 Game-Key Card, or PS5 in most listings)
  • Digital Deluxe upgrade code (emailed)
  • Collector’s goods box:
    • Acrylic block set (self-standing 8 mm pixel blocks of main characters, summons, and bosses)
    • Pixel art book
    • Original soundtrack CD album, 120 tracks (some listings describe a multi-disc set; the official count is 120 songs)
    • Exclusive Final Fantasy Trading Card Game promotional card

The physical game is often shipped beside the goods box, not packed inside it. The soundtrack is slated for a later standalone sale; the Collector copy is the early one. Stock is limited. If you want the acrylic Bahamut on a shelf, this is the SKU; if you want Fel Meteor, Deluxe digital is enough.

Japan’s e-STORE is the usual JP source at ¥25,500. Region stores do not always ship every platform to every country. Read the shipping line before you assume a Steam Collector box exists in your warehouse — some JP Steam Collector listings bundle digital Deluxe plus the goods, not a disc.

Pre-order — Magitek Airship & Squire Starter Pack

Only for customers who pre-order (Steam wording: not for people who buy after release). Pack contents:

  • Magitek Airship Passkey x1 — changes the airship’s appearance to a magitek vessel. Toggle in Items. Cosmetic. The airship itself is still a story unlock.
  • Knight’s Greatsword x1
  • Chestplate of Preparation x1 — increases EXP gained in battle by a certain amount
  • Magicite Shard x1 — Vision awakening material. Scarce in the campaign. See Visions.
  • Tent x3
  • Mist Potion x3

This is the pack people confuse with Deluxe. Airship skin = pre-order. Chocobo magitek armor = Deluxe. Two vehicles, two SKUs.

Digital pre-order cutoffs differ by store. Japanese listings have used “order by October 21, 11:59 p.m.” on some console stores and a Steam-specific minute mark. Trust the storefront checkout screen, not a screenshot from June.

Early purchase — Squire Kickstart Pack

Window: through 8:59 a.m. PT on November 6, 2026. Some storefronts print November 5, 2026, 11:59 p.m. local time or 11:59 p.m. PST. Those are the same deadline described two ways. If you buy on November 6 in the afternoon in Europe, you are late.

Pack contents:

  • Blessed Cuirass x1 — increases gil obtained by a certain amount
  • Mist Ether x1

This window is longer than launch day on purpose. You can skip pre-order, buy Standard on October 22, and still claim Kickstart if you are inside the November 6 PT cutoff. You cannot skip pre-order and still claim the Airship Passkey.

What is not in any box

A fifth party slot. Online features. A Season Pass. Extra Visions beyond the 26 in the campaign. A Windows 10 license — see PC requirements. A promise that Collector ships on day one in every postcode; Square Enix’s own store warns that the courier, not the warehouse, owns the last mile.

Consumables (tents, potions, Phoenix Downs) shorten the early grind. They do not replace combat knowledge. The Magicite Shard is the only pre-order item that touches the Vision tier conversation, and even then it is one shard, not a full awakening tree.

How to buy without doubling up

  • Want the game and nothing else: Standard.
  • Want chocobo magitek plus Fel Meteor: Deluxe or the $14.99 upgrade.
  • Want the airship magitek skin: pre-order any edition.
  • Want gil armor: buy any edition before the November 6 PT Kickstart cutoff.
  • Want acrylics, art book, soundtrack, TCG card: Collector from the Square Enix store listed on links.

Then play to Mitra, check the postbox, and go back to getting started. The box art does not sit in your ability cost bar.

Pre-order ends when the game launches October 22, 2026; the Squire Kickstart window lasts until 8:59 a.m. PT on November 6. Those are different clocks. Set both, then open the Mitra postbox before you open another store tab.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers drawn from Square Enix briefings and the Chapter 1 demo.

Is Deluxe required for the Magitek airship skin?

No. The Magitek Airship Passkey is a pre-order extra. Deluxe’s Magitek Armor Key changes the chocobo, not the airship. See the tables above.

When does the early-purchase bonus end?

8:59 a.m. PT on November 6, 2026. Some stores list November 5 at 11:59 p.m. local time. Buy before that clock if you want the Blessed Cuirass and Mist Ether.

Where do I claim the items?

From the postbox in front of the inn in Mitra, after enough story progress. The demo is the place to learn the town layout.

What does Collector include that Deluxe does not?

Physical goods: acrylic blocks, art book, 120-track soundtrack, and a TCG promo, plus a physical Standard copy in most regions. The in-game Deluxe pack is the same.

Can I upgrade Standard to Deluxe later?

Nintendo lists a $14.99 Digital Deluxe Upgrade. Other storefronts may sell the pack separately. Check the store you used; do not buy the full $59.99 bundle twice.

Does Collector include Steam?

Some Japanese e-STORE listings bundle digital Deluxe for Steam with the goods box. Western Collector pages usually list Switch, Switch 2, or PS5 physical. Read the SKU title on [Square Enix Store](https://na.store.square-enix-games.com/final-fantasy-resonance).
