Use this hub before you spend money. FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE launches October 22, 2026 on Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Windows via Steam and the Microsoft Store. Japanese Steam pages list October 23 because of timezone. The game is a single-player HD-2D RPG. The Chapter 1 demo is playable today and transfers saves, so the only purchases that cannot be undone are editions, platforms, and a Windows 11 upgrade.

What the spec sheet is really asking
Steam’s PC build wants Windows 11, 8 GB of RAM, DirectX 12, and 15 GB of disk. Minimum is 1080p30 on Low with a Ryzen 3 2300X or Core i3-8100 and an RX 6400, Arc A580, or GTX 1650. Recommended is 1080p60 on Highest with a Ryzen 5 2500X (Intel stays on the same i3-8100) and an RX 5500 XT, Arc A580, or GTX 1650. That is an unusually small gap. If a 1650-class card is already in the case, you are not shopping for a new GPU; you are shopping for Windows 11 and a free 15 GB.
The same Steam page marks the build Steam Deck Verified, lists Denuvo Anti-tamper, and checks Steam Cloud, achievements, trading cards, family sharing, full controller support, DualSense over USB, keyboard-only play, and Steam Input. Read the requirements page for the footnotes (Deck first-time internet, DualSense USB-only, the i3-8100 appearing in both columns).
Console players can skip the GPU column and still use this hub for file-size context and edition math. Nintendo’s Switch 2 listing quotes an estimated 12.7 GB download; Switch 1 is listed around 8.8 GB. Those are console estimates, not the Steam 15 GB number. Do not mix them when you clean a drive.
What the edition table is really asking
Standard is the game. Deluxe adds the Magitek Armor Key (chocobo cosmetic), Archwitch’s Grimoire (Fel Meteor Limit Burst for a certain character), a Mastery Ring, and a pile of tents, potions, Phoenix Downs, and Remedies. Collector adds a physical copy, a Deluxe upgrade code, acrylic pixel blocks, an art book, a 120-track soundtrack, and a Final Fantasy TCG promo — sold through Square Enix stores, with the Japanese e-STORE as the usual JP source.
Pre-order is a different clock from Deluxe. The Magitek Airship pack (Passkey, Knight’s Greatsword, Chestplate of Preparation, Magicite Shard, Tent x3, Mist Potion x3) is for people who pay before launch. Early purchase is a third clock: Blessed Cuirass (gil) and a Mist Ether through 8:59 a.m. PT on November 6, 2026. Some storefronts print that as November 5 at 11:59 p.m. local time. Claim all of those items at the postbox in front of the inn in Mitra after you have moved the story far enough. The editions page lines the boxes up so you do not buy Deluxe for an airship skin that is actually a pre-order extra.
None of those items are a fifth party member. They do not change party builds. They do not skip combat. The Chestplate of Preparation speeds EXP; the Blessed Cuirass speeds gil. That is all.
How to decide in one pass
- Pick a platform. Saves do not cross from Switch to Steam. Nintendo’s Switch and Switch 2 versions are separate SKUs with no upgrade path called out in press coverage — choose the one you will actually play.
- Check the requirements if that platform is PC. Windows 10 is not on the chart.
- Open editions if you care about Magitek cosmetics, Fel Meteor, or a collector box. If you only want the story, Standard plus the free demo is the honest cart.
- Pre-order only if you want the Airship pack. Wait until after launch only if you are willing to lose that pack and still grab Kickstart before November 6.
- Play the demo, then read getting started so the Mitra postbox is not a mystery when the codes land.
What this hub will not do
It will not host a DPS calculator. Preview combat is timeline-and-stagger, and the numbers are not public. It will not host a gacha banner schedule. There is no gacha. It will not host an online matchmaker. The game is single-player. It will not guess a preload date Square Enix has not printed.

Check the spec sheet before you buy a GPU upgrade you do not need, then check the edition table before you skip a Magitek key you actually wanted. The October 22, 2026 launch does not refund either mistake, and the Mitra postbox will not stock a Windows 11 disc.
